Who We Are
Our management team is a tight, balanced unit, ensuring quick decision-making and responsive levels. We are down-to-earth and insist on simple and effective communication. Our teams are small and highly experienced. The founding Directors Lance and Richard combine over twenty years of commercial experience in facilities services that include commercial cleaning, waste management, building repairs and maintenance, construction, building washing, window cleaning and project management.
Richard Cawson – Managing Director
Richard is a qualified electrician with considerable experience in the commercial, industrial and domestic markets. He has worked in the dairy and petrochemical fields throughout New Zealand. In 2000 he joined the family commercial cleaning business (Manchester Property Care) as a Contracts Manager and after eight months moved into the role of Auckland Branch Manager. He was responsible for all staffing, budgets and quality management. After 18 months as Auckland Branch Manager he was appointed National Operations Manager, managing around 800 staff through a nationwide network. He was responsible for establishing and implementing the systems and processes to facilitate the efficient and effective management of all staff throughout the nationwide branch network. He held this position until 2005 when he decided he needed a new challenge and set up Access | Partners in Property.
Lance Pearson – Director
Lance has a Bachelor of Agricultural Management and has also achieved certified qualifications in plumbing and drain laying. Prior to immigrating to New Zealand, Lance owned and operated a successful contracting, plumbing and drain laying business. On arrival in New Zealand he was employed by a large, international waste management company where he held several key roles in operations and contracts management. Gaining seven years’ experience, he then left them to become the Auckland Manager of ISS Facilities Services. With ten direct reports and over 200 staff, Lance was responsible for significant contracts in the commercial, public, industrial, engineering, education and hospitality sectors. He held this position for two years then took on his next challenge to set up Access with Richard.
Craig Pearson – Sales and Marketing Manager
Craig brings knowledge from more than a decade spent in New Zealand Sales and Marketing
Management roles, along with 2 years on the NZ Agritech Inc Board. Valuable first-hand experience gained as an owner of a Civil Contracting Business in South Africa allows Craig to take a helpful and practical approach when applying his knowledge to our business. Craig’s know-how incorporates product, service and solution sales, business development in domestic and export markets and strategic management. His previous Civil Contracting and Sales and Marketing experience means he is well positioned to add value to the leadership team.
Roger Waymouth – Finance Manager
Roger is a qualified accountant with over 30 years’ experience in a range of manufacturing and service industries. After qualifying in 1989, Roger held the Financial Controller role for one of the Carter Holt Group companies before purchasing a service related business in the Automotive industry along with 2 others in 1993. After owning and running the business for 16 years, Roger moved to a Company Accountant role in a Cleaning Supplies company, then on to a similar position with an Earthmoving Attachments manufacturer. After a short stint as Assistant Finance Manager with Airwork NZ, Roger joined Access in May 2017. His experience in a wide range of industries and systems means he brings a wealth of knowledge to the Management Team.
Francois Vorster- Regional Manager (BOP/Waikato)
Francois is our WAIKATO BOP Branch Manager and based at our offices located in Tauranga. He has an extensive background in facilities management and services, maintenance, building washing and project management and started off a career with Access in Auckland as the Operations Manager early 2010. He left the company in 2014 and followed a career in contract management and facilities maintenance developing his relationship and management skills. He became the national training manager for ISS Facilities Services. Francois returned to Access in February 2016 taking on the new position of Regional Manager for BOP and Waikato and has been very successful in growing and establishing the Access brand and footprint. He is an asset to the company and prides himself on being solution and customer focused.
